Jose, our tour guide, one of the nicest people I’ve met. Made us feel very comfortable,easy to get on with and very knowledgeable with a sense of humor. Our tour took us through the city to Vinales to Finca Agroecológica El Paraiso a beautiful self supported restaurant and tobacco farm. Jose definitely knows the best places to visit. One day tour from Havana to Viñales was incredible! We – as a group of 4 – not only got to see beautiful views on the way to our destination, but had the chance to hear about the history of the region and whole Cuba. It was amazing to see the drying process of tobacco and how the cigars are made. Delicious Pina colada and horseback riding was great addition to the whole trip! Javier was great guide and gave us insight on the day to day life in Cuba. Additionally, Javier helped us with planning our next trip to El Nicho, Cienfuegos and Varadero. Without him and his friends that would be impossible.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Our day with Javier was that incredible. We were originally introduced to him through our hotel in Havana, but from now on, I’ll only be booking directly through CubaInsights, his private company. He’s not just a tour guide. He’s an ambassador of Cuban warmth, history, and hospitality.

We did the Viñales Essentials Tour, and Javier picked us up around 8 AM in a stunning 1954 four-door Bel Air. The car was beautiful, and the driver was equally fantastic. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met, alongside Javier himself. From the moment we hit the road, it was like being shown Cuba by old friends who just happened to know all the best spots.

We saw the iconic painted cliffs, but the absolute highlight for me was the cigar farm. An experience I’ll never forget. It felt personal, genuine, and deeply connected to the heart of Cuban culture. Javier shared stories, history, and insights that gave every stop so much more meaning.

This wasn’t just a tour. It was the best day of my life. I’m still struggling to put into words how incredible it was. If you’re planning a trip to Cuba, do yourself a favor and hire Javier. We wanted to do something off-the-beaten path in Vinales and selected a “Risky Vinales” tour with Javier. Javier and his climbing instructor friend led us up a steep hike, then a 20ft rock climb to an opening of a cave with absolutely gorgeous view of the valley and awesome stalactites and stalagmites inside. We were quite dusty after exploring the cave but had another treat waiting for us – an 80 ft vertical descent on a rope. Unforgettable experience and totally worth 6+ hours in the car on the way there and back! Thank you so much, Javier!! 5 stars!

From my first contact with Javi, the experience was professional, smooth, and timely. My family and I had very limited time but he was able to give us a relaxing yet full day.
